Ventrilo Advanced Setup
|
Enable voice communications: This option enables or disables you from transmiting voice communication to other Users. Use Push-To-Talk: This option can be enabled if the you want to transmit voice communication through a "hotkey". This works by holding down a key to talk and releasing it to stop talking. Use DirectInput to detect Hotkey: This is used when "Push-To-Talk" is enabled and will help to allow "Push-To-Talk" to work across all programs. This is useful for when you are running games and Ventrilo is in the background. Discard Hotkey: This is a key that you can set that will disabled the "Push-To-Talk" key when it is simultaneously held down. This can be useful when you do not want to transmit through "Push-To-Talk", but want to use the key for something else. Play Key Clicks: When this is set it will give you audio feedback on when you are transmiting and when you are not. Hotkey: This is the key that you wish to set for "Push-To-Talk". Silence time: This is the amount of time that your voice transmision must be below the sensitivity for it to end. Sensitivity: This option allows you to set at what signal strength you want to start voice communication at. Input device: If you have more than one sound card you can select which one you want Ventrilo to use for binds and wave files. Enable auto reconnect: If you have been disconnected by the server without automating it then you can select this to automatically try and reconnect. This is useful for when the server has been restarted. Delay in seconds before reconnect: This is the amount of delay before your Ventrilo client tries to reconnect to the server. You must have auto reconnect enabled for this to be in affect. Reconnect attempts: This is the number of times your Ventrilo client will try to reconnect to the server. You must have auto reconnect enabled for this to be in affect. Restore last active channel: This will restore you to the last channel you were in before being disconnected. You must have auto reconnect enabled for this to be in affect. Voice stream starts: This sets the number of packets to buffer from a User before hearing their voice stream. Voice stream is interrupted: This is basically the same as "Voice stream starts" except that it tells Ventrilo to start buffering packets again if the voice communication stops. Minimize to system tray: This will allow Ventrilo to minimize to the System Tray. Silent blank comments: When enabled this will prevent Users from generating an event sound when creating a blank comment. Silent connections when in a channel: When enabled all sounds from people joining the server in the Lobby or joining a specific channel will no longer be heard by you. Auto expand all channels when connecting: This is useful for displaying all Users currently connected to the server even if you had previously not had all channels expanded. Process priority class: This can be adjusted to give Ventrilo a higher priority class in the system. The default is Normal, and this should be sufficient for the majority of Users.
