Don't you hate it when a user / visitor has a long phonetic nickname then join or leave the vent server. You have to sit there and wait until the phonetic sound finishes is very annoying specially when you're in a clan match. 

Here i will tell you how to turn off some or all ventrilo events sounds. Open your ventrilo client then click on the setup button when the setup window opens click on the events tab on top.

You can change the ventrilo events to nothing, text to speech or to wave file sounds. Just click on the "All Wave", "All TTS" or "All Nothing".

The all nothing will not play a sound.

The all wave will play wave file sounds.

The all tts will play text to speech sounds. --- This is the one we want to turn off.

The only problem about turning off or switching tts is that you won't be able to hear to joins or leaves a ventrilo channel or the server.

Once you are done selecting the type of sound you want click ok to close the window.
